My name is Cellas Wanjala Nyongesa and I am 16 years old. I am the fourth born of seven children. My background growing up has had several difficulties that God has brought me through. Early on, my parents worked hard to be able to provide the basic necessities of food, clothing, and our shelter. Soon after, while I was in the 3rd grade my father passed away and life got harder for my mother.
We spent time in multiple primary schools. My mother was able to get a sponsorship from one school for my siblings and I. While my education there was better than before, I had a hard time with the director while I was in 7th grade. After my mother realized the hardships that I was experiencing, she was able to transfer me on to Chekulo FYM to finish my primary education.
My hard work and determination in primary school was often times recognized by my teachers. Even they could tell that I had an appreciation for all of my subjects. I hope to continue my educational journey with that same spirit while here at Living Hope High School. I am hoping that through a sponsorship, I am able to finish out my secondary education and go on to a prosperous job to provide for my family and I.
