My name is Sharlyne Kavetsa Galagali. I was born on July 13th, 2005. I have five brothers and five sisters. I am the 6th child and am hoping to follow in my older siblings’ shoes by continuing my education in high school.
I attended Mugunga Turning Point where I was being sponsored until my sponsorship was taken away from me. During my studies there I was recognized by the staff for being a hardworking, well disciplined, and self-driven student. I hope to continue that tradition as I begin my studies during my time here at Living Hope High School.
My family has been faced with many hardships over the years, as my mother is the main source of income. She is a small-scale farmer and has done all she can to help support her children and furthering their education. Leaving my family at home was challenging but I have met so many good friends already here at Living Hope. One of the hardest parts about leaving was having to part ways for a while with a dear friend of mine, my three-year-old neighbor. When I left for school, she cried her eyes out. I told her that I am hoping to strengthen my education and pursue a career as a lawyer so that I can be a big help to not only my family, but also to our home community.
As I mentioned earlier, since starting school this semester at Living Hope, I have become friends with a lot of the other students. We enjoy spending time reading story books and are blessed to be able to sing and dance in worship together. Those are some of my favorite activities to partake in here at school. I also enjoy playing legball whenever I get the opportunity.
I would love a sponsor who can help me finish my education. I pray to God that I am able to get a sponsorship. My community really needs help and I am hoping to be that hope that they need to prosper in life.
