Isabella Nasimiyu
My name is Isabella Nasimiyu. I was born on March 6, 2002 At Kakamega. I live in the same house that I was born in. I was born in a family of seven children and I am the fifth born. I am lucky to have both parents. My father is just a peasant farmer together with my mother.
I started my education at the tender age of two. I learned at Golden Tots School for seven years, up to class five. Then I was transferred, where I studied until class eight. I did my first KCPE National exam in 2015 and scored 312 marks. God was looking out for me and because of lack school fees, I had to rewind P8 so that I could aim higher and get better marks. After my decision, I went to another school for my second trial. I studied tooth and nail, burning the midnight oil to get better results. As soon as my results were out, I was so happy. I had scored 378 marks! I thanked God. I loved all subjects. At first I hated Math. My math teacher took a special interest in me and explained math and showed me that it was easy. From there, I embraced it with both hands. English was always my best subject and I was number one, always. My teachers were pleased with my work and I started teaching my fellow students. They all started to do better. It helped me too.
I am also talented in reciting poems. I am good at it and someday want to be a poet. I have performed at many places and the audience always claps and sometimes cries. I believe that poetry can teach moral values and virtues. I would like to be a lecturer at a university and travel all over the world teaching students about poetry and why it is so powerful and important. It would make me very happy to see students learning to be better citizens and Christians through poetry. The Bible is filled with beautiful poetry so I think that God and Jesus like poetry too.
I have always had the passion to teach. Even my teachers in Primary saw my talent. One day I hope to be an excellent teacher and help students to try their best and not just get by. The future relies on us doing all that we can right now. We must have drive and passion to succeed. I believe that God is with me and there for me all the time. Here at Living Hope everything is fine and I am really enjoying my education. God will help me reach my goals, give me wisdom, and help me resist temptation.
For the next four years, I need help to reach my goals. I know that God will make a way and I am hoping that you will come along beside me and be my sponsor. Together we can make the world a better place. Thank you for reading my letter.
God bless you,
Isabella Nasimiyu
